The Private Queue allows you to build a game by selecting rinks, timeslot options, and invited participants. One player acts as the organizer.
Choose the rinks where you are willing to play. Selecting more rinks increases the likelihood of finding available ice.
Choose the full range of possible days and times for the game. You only need one timeslot to successfully match. Selecting multiple timeslots increases your chances of securing ice.
The organizer can:
Set invite permissions
Choose how goalies will be sourced (invite privately or allow BetterPuck to source)
Configure other game preferences
Invite:
20–26 players
Two goalies
Invited players select their availability from the provided timeslot options. You do not need everyone to respond before finalizing. Players who do not respond will be removed from the Queue when you submit.
The organizer reviews responses and confirms the final timeslot(s). After submission:
BetterPuck searches for matching ice
Confirmed players are notified
Confirmed players are charged
If no ice match is found, no one is charged.
If you invite your own goalies:
They must confirm participation
They must still be voted in once the game forms
If invited goalies do not confirm, BetterPuck will source goalies — this cost is already included in the high-end price estimate
The estimated per-player cost assumes 20 players. If fewer than 20 players confirm, the total ice cost remains the same and each confirmed player pays slightly more. All players agree to this pricing structure when accepting the game.
